Removal of Patient Plus on April 1, 2024

As of April 1, 2024, Patient Plus will no longer be offered. There were several considerations that went into this decision.
• Trio testing offers a better opportunity for patient access as there are no reimbursement codes for Patient Plus testing but there are for Trio testing.
• Trio testing allows us to detect de novo variants and shortens turnaround as parents are sequenced concurrently with the proband.
• Patient Plus added complexity in our testing workflows and increased turnaround time as parent testing could not begin until proband testing was nearly completed.
As our laboratory grows, efficiencies in scalability are critical. Evaluation of our test menu and testing options is an ongoing process that ensures we are providing the best care for patients, while maximizing laboratory operations.
